The common armadilloupe is a creature of forest edges, increasingly common in the suburbs. While it prefers to dine in the cool shady forest, tearing into the trunks of rotting trees for ants and termites, it also likes being near cultivated gardens, where it will spend hours sleeping in melon patches, mimicking its cousin, the cantaloupe. Whether this is a clever ruse to fool predators, or whether the armadilloupe is just lonely is a question that has never been adequately answered by science.

9 x 12 mixed media, fooling around with a new technique. I had a lot of fun with this one. Original is for sale for $275, prints are available for $10 and $20 plus shipping.
