Artist's Comments

Cardinals on bare branches are definitely in the running for the most cliche of all wildlife art images. So, still inspired by the art of James Christensen and wanting to play around with distorted anatomy, I decided to do my version with Catholic cardinals, 'cos even though I'm not a Christian, I know snappy dressers when I see 'em.

This is a huge acrylic, 24 x 36, so I'll upload a detail since you can barely see the little guys here...

Okay, this is really cute. I could see marketing a line of these. Take the most famous cardinals in history and fiction and make little plushies of them like this. ^^ I'd buy 'em.
Seriously, adorable.
