The original sketch of the cat was done YEARS ago--literally--and then I noodled around with the painting, and then I wasn't happy with it, and then I put it away and picked it up again and I'm still not really happy with it, but sitting on my hard drive isn't making it magically better, so I figure I'll inflict it upon the world.

The lilac-point Siamese looks very much like my boyfriend's cat Smokey, who is friendly and lovable and dumb, and the fish looks like no one I've ever met.

I think your love of rodents really shows in the cat's face; the shape looks a bit like an opossum :P However I love your work, and you always have ridiculously funny ideas. I agree, this would be a great bookmark.
