My paints are all in boxes, but I still have my trusty pencil and bristol pad! This jumble of clematis is occurring in my new yard at the moment, and I had been itching to sketch it. I always had a soft spot for clematis, and when I discovered it growing in tangles at the shed at this new house, I cheered. Then I tied it up, because it was ambling along the ground. It seems to have survived the encounter with me, string, and a hammer. I felt this sort of hardiness deserved a sketch.
Naturally, a mouse found his way in. They get into everything--the silverware drawer, the paintings, my brain... If I ever manage to dig out watercolors, this might make a nice study for a painting. I haven't done botanicals in awhile. Anyway! Original 11 x 14 graphite on bristol for sale, for $65 plus shipping, prints available for $10 and $20 plus shipping, send a note or visit [link] for details! |
