I had opened a panel of art board--6 x 12--discovered that it was the wrong size for what I wanted, and then the damn thing was kicking around the studio floor and I had to do SOMETHING with it before I accidentally stepped on a corner and broke my kneecaps or something.

And I had a sudden urge to put a phalloi in a landscape. With phallic rocks, of course. So I dashed off this quick little study.

(The real cock of the rock is a type of tropical bird, who has the most wonderfully unreal face you've ever seen. Worth looking up. Cautiously.)
