Covey by ursulav Covey by ursulav
Confronted with the sudden ability to paint anything I want, having finished the latest Dragonbreath book, I find myself yo-yoing madly between styles. Something about these simple little bird designs appeals to me, so I had to follow up the Curious Quail and the Odd Thrush with a full covey of the little guys.

6 x 12, mixed media on artist panel. Rubber stamps, art paper, microscope slides, squares of clayboard, ink, heavy gloss gel, acrylic paint and metallic copper powder. As with most of these, it works better in person--the colors do neat things in layers that don't really work on a monitor. Still, a fun piece.

Original sold, prints available for $10 and $20 plus shipping at Red Wombat Studio: [link]

It looks like the cover to a children's book! I'd definitely buy my niece that book if it were.
