Elric and the Stone Eggplant

This is one of those things where you know there's gotta be a story there, and you have no idea what it is. (My gut reaction is that now Elric controls the mighty stone eggplant of legend, he'll show them all!--but that doesn't answer any questions and mostly raises new ones, some of them a little unsettling.) 'Course, now I have a desire to paint stone grapes for some reason...

Anyway, another experiment with oil pastel and mixed media. You can't get quite the tight detail with oil pastel, as far as I can tell, or perhaps I'm not doing it right, but you can get great textures, so I'm torn. I will probably keep experimenting until I figure out how to either do detail or mix it with other media well enough that I can compensate, since I really do like the texture effects. Anyway, it keeps me amused.
