Artist's Comments
Just another small quicky for Anthrocon. 8 x 10, mixed media. I do this thing every year--I see the big Con art shows on the horizon, I clutch my skull, and I go "What do I paint? What will people buy?" Yes, I do go "What will people buy?" I know, I know, artists are supposed to operate unsullied by such commercial considerations, subject only to the whim of the muse. And indeed, some of them do. Those of us who like regular meals, however, ask ourselves "What will people buy?"
"Foxes!" I think. "Wolves! Big cats! Horses!" And all of this is true. And I reach for the sketchbook, and stare at it for five minutes blankly, and then when next I come to, the page has wombats dressed like the guy from "Clockwork Orange" and small cute hadrosaurs having tea. Hey, I just said I ASKED myself what people will buy. I didn't say I ever got around to painting it. Prints are available for $10 plus shipping, original will be going to Anthrocon, and will be for sale if it returns unsold. Send a note or visit [link] for print orders! |
