Klimt's Owl by ursulav Klimt's Owl by ursulav
A return to the Klimt's critters! This time a Great Horned Owl. (Something to occupy my hands during the latest D&D session)

5 x 7, lots of metallics, which of course scan for crap, which I know, and I do it anyway...

Acrylic, ink, metallic paint...Original is for sale, and will be going with me to FC if the general offer-I-can't-refuse isn't made first. Prints available, at Red Wombat Studio: [link]

Wanted to share this.

Last night I had a dream about the big horned owl that I have been talking to in the garden each day since it stopped raining. In my dream he was sitting on a log looking at me under the hazel tree. He dropped a single brown barred feather, and started to fade away. When he was almost gone he flew up and vanished into the air leaving the feather on the ground.

This morning I went out to where the feather was in my dream. As I suspected the owl was there stiff and dead. Since it was a dry day, if chilly, I went on a long ride on the Harley to think about it. Burying a bird in the ground seems wrong to me, so I think that tomorrow I will put him in the middle of the thicket of fir trees that grows near the highway. I have seen many an owl hunting from those trees, so it seems like a place an owl would want to be.

I will try to post some pictures I took of the owl when he was hanging out in the garden.

God, I doodle endlessly during DnD...once when it was slow, I started to drive myself a little crazy with the doodling, and had to restrain myself because I was annoyed I was doodling. It was really odd.

One thing you could do for the metallic pieces is take a second picture with a camera, at an angle that catches the reflections on the metallic paint. It wouldn't help much here unless you were willing to attach the photo to the side of the scan, but it could look nice and impressive on your main website.

The geometrical pattens are magnificent. The shape, the color, the rhytm of them, they are kind of a Picassoi-ish way of portraying the feathers in their point. I so like your work. I like your liking of beasts :D
