Marsupial Mango Tea 2 by ursulav Marsupial Mango Tea 2 by ursulav
Another stab at the Marsupial Mango label, following an excellent reader suggestion. This one looked sort of like the label on a bottle of iced tea, so I removed the "unbleached tea bag" bit and put the Red Wombat Tea Co motto in.

The fun thing about design is that you can generate a bunch of variants in a short period of time. The less fun thing is that all you poor guys watching get hit with a dozen tea labels as a result of my frenzy. 'Pologies. *grin*

Prints of this one also available!

Not a lot of difference between this one and the other, yet I like the other one better. never the less you are making collectables for your buyers, which is always good.

You're more successful at this sort of thing than I am...and it's my degree too! >.< I was going to comment on the previous one, saying it remindied me somewhat of Sobe lables...but this one is even more that way. Nice job.

You might want to make the words describing the drink and what's in it a teensy bit bigger, but I don't know. Hard to say with just an image on the screen. My portfolio teacher said that if we were making anything of a nature to be a label for something that it would be helpful to actually put it on a bottle or whatever...to better simulate how it was suposed to look/be used. I dunno.

Seems to be a very sucessful design...apart from/accentuated by (depending on point of veiw) the extreme colors...

And...i'm just rambling...TRYING to be knowledgeable about my field...though I'm not sure it's working...:P

Aaah, that's much better! Might I just suggest lowering the top of the arch slightly, to flatten out the curve and match the wombat more closely?

Ooo! I think you minimized the negative space in a great way! Although the top line of words is kinda hard to read.

I have to agree with pearwood. I like the squared top. In fact, when you said you didn't quite feel right about the "dead space", I actually wanted a bit more. Perhaps this is a tall bottle and needs a longer rectangle with the brand at the top and the rest of the elements grouped close together down below...

Ursula,
I think I prefer the squared off version. Now that I think of it, the extra space makes a big difference.

I think the arch was exactly what the top needed-- you really didn't add anything to it, so it's not cluttered and you still have the charm of the original design. Lovely work.

I don't think plaster of paris melts or anything once it's set. If it does you could always use one of the more concrete casting media.

You keep on apologizing for the many wombat tea variations, bot I am lovin' every one of them. I mean, totally. "Red Wombat Tea Co." So trendy! :D Seriously, though, something about the brand and the posters really appeals to me, and I know that if this were an existing business, I'd buy. Keep variating! :tea: forever!

Ah, I liked the first one, but this is even better. The way the top of the frame echoes the wombat's back is very visually pleasing. This would make a nifty t-shirt, if anyone made shirts that pretty teal-ish color (and had 'I dig tea' on the back to play on the motto). ^..^

We don't mind your frenzy of tea labels, really! I love this, I think it's even better, somethign about the curve at the top. All the other labels have been for regular tea, and they've all been square, so it makes sense that when you do an iced tea or something, the label should change. I really love this one.
