Every now and then I get the urge to do a deathless, meaningful painting, a painting for the ages, a painting that tackles with the big subjects of life and death and love and loss and suffering and glory.
Then I go paint mice in little costumes, because let's face it--that's really what I'm good at.
While I am notoriously reluctant to commit to any series, ever, under any circumstances, no matter what, I will go so far as to say that a set of mousey magic-users would be awfully cute. Mousey druid! Mousey shaman! Mousey brujah! Mousey sorcerer! The possibilities are endless! That doesn't mean I'll do it--my Muse is perverse and likes to prove I can't tell her what to do--but I'm willing to admit it'd be cute.
Prints are available, for $10 & $20 plus shipping. The original 10 x 14 watercolor/colored pencil/ink is not currently for sale until I figure out whether it's not-a-series or REALLY not a series--I may want to offer 'em as a set, or perhaps auction it, I dunno, but if you're interested, you can always contact me and check on the status.
You have this way of making the most of whatever colours you use. It's goregous.

I like him - he has a slightly more mature look than some of your previous mousies (thinking of the elementals here ). And the color scheme is ever so nice. Yay cream and blue!
Do you find on certain pictures you lean more heavily on a particular medium? I ask because this works looks colored-pencil heavy. Not, "heavy, bad," just, "heavy, heavy." Sometimes, with some of your work, you almost can't place the medium. Your colors, by medium, simply blend so well together that one can't easily tell them apart -- usually there's a strong three-dimensionality attached to pictures where you've colored like this -- with other pictures it seems as though you'll sometimes lean on a particular medium more, for whatever desired effect you were seeking, as seems to be the case here . . .
Sometimes I wonder if I talk to much. EDIT: I take that back. I KNOW I talk to much.
P.S. And just to make it clear, "I love this picture!"

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
