Artist's Comments
This was a technical experiment, loosely inspired by the collage work of Chris Berens. I did the initial underpainting digitally, printed it out on my snazzy printer, sealed it to board, and proceeded to beat the hell out of it with every medium at my disposal, trying to see what worked. So it's Very Very Mixed Media...inkjet, pastel, acrylic paint, acrylic ink, india ink, color pencil, blended fiber medium, paint pen, watercolor, silk paint, and anything else I had laying on the studio table within arm's reach. The end result is not quite what I had envisioned, but I think it might be going somewhere, if I ever have time to follow the experiment to the end.
It's not quite a lion, but I'm not sure if it knows that. Anyway! Original for sale, prints available, and you can order those at the snazzy new Red Wombat Studio at [link] |

Check out my new novel The Second Key of Kalijor.
"To thine own self be true, and thou canst not then be false to anyone."
Very interesting concept, and I love how you just beat it up with anything you could find. You're so daring, and the current end-result looks fabulous for what you did. I'm sure if I'd done that it would have ended in disaster.

This is very cool.
I'm inspired by your experimentation.
The possibilities for someone who goes crazy with both digital and traditional media... it boggles the mind. O_o
Of course, it's possible you already know about this and I'm preaching to the choir. XD

The way to a man's heart is between his third and fourth rib.
I'm impressed at just how well all your media experementaion worked together. Usually when I play like that I end up with a horrible muddled blob that looks like it crawled out of a ninteen eightys horror flick.

All I wish is for you to love my characters as much as I do.
That's my interpretation, anyway. *shrug*
