This just started out as a character design--I wanted to do someone in patchwork robes, and I've always always had a soft spot for the stately (and tiny-brained) giant anteater, as evidenced by all those moo-ing and cavorting anteater doodles lurking somewhere in my art backlog. But anyway, once I started painting, I realized there was some kind of story here--he's got a flute, which he must use for charming something. What does an anteater charm? Ants, of course! So now I may have to do another painting at some point of the pied anteater playing the flute for a goggling ant horde....in my copious spare time...
Acrylic and ink on clayboard, 9 x 12. Original is for sale, as always, prints are available--visit [link] or drop me a note if I haven't updated with the info yet. |
