More quail! (I just love their little topknots...)

My original plan with this one was to change up the colors. I did a piece mostly in red and blue-violet. I had a plan.

After about six hours, I over painted most of it in heavy black, stamped "Art is Hard" on it white ink, and threw it into a corner of the studio, hopefully never to be seen again, and went back to the color scheme that was definitely working for me. Experimentation is important, but sometimes, so is knowing when to quit.

Anyway! Mixed media and collage, 6 x 8 on panel, ready to hang or could be framed. Original is for sale, prints available at Red Wombat Studio: [link]

Should I keep faving almost all your stuff? I want to fave some of the golden oldies like "Vally of Wang" and "Morning Wood" (the cup of coffee had me cracking up) but I don't know if I am there yet. D:

I think they are talking about philosophy....

Any chance you would do a tutorial about your techniques??

Glad to know I'm not the only one who does that. ;)

SO TRUE. I feel much more like a "real" artist when people I adore and respect also make comments like that! :)

It's definitely nice to know that even the big names are human. :)
