Verbena the fairy didn't NEED a riding turtle, obviously. She had wings, after all. However, given the proclivity of turtles to eat ducklings, and following that unfortunate incident with the amorous mallard, Verbena decided it was worth travelling a little more slowly to have a chelonian bodyguard and never suffer the depredations of the local duck populace again.
(Okay, look, I don't KNOW why a fairy would ride a turtle. I just felt like painting it. I'm still not sure if I like this color version more than the simplicity of the black and white version, but that's pretty normal for me.)
following that unfortunate incident with the amorous mallard You have a great sense of humor. This one cracks me up (along with your fengor wizard zapping the chicken).
Hehe. When I got to that part about the amorous Mallard, I just started cracking up. It's great, and I would favorite this, but my parents look at my page, and...you know where I'm going with this. It's favorited...In my heart.
I really love your work. You have a great balance of line and color (sometthing I'm trying to work on more :/) and your sense of anatomy and rendering are also first rate!
