Among the many strange sights seen by the pink lizard in his travels, the fearsome blue lizards of the crags and their nimble mountain slugs were one of the most worrisome. However, despite their ferocious appearance*, the blue lizards proved to be a courteous and honorable people, and the pink lizard was allowed to pass through their lands without ending up on the business end of an enraged slug. He never learned more than a dozen words in their language--"yes," "no," "slug," "restroom," and a few multi-purpose obscenities, but in this, he was no different than 90% of language students the world over, so we won't judge him for it.
This is an older piece (by which I mean about three months old--how quickly the time passes) that I doodled up, and forgot to scan, 'cos I'm easily distracted. 5 x 7 mixed media on illo board. Original is for sale! (Aren't they always) Drop a note, or visit [link] if I've gotten around to updating.
*Science is still trying to work out how lizards have mohawks. It has been suggested that they're all wearing weaves, but everybody's scared to ask.
OMG, I thought I was the only one weird enough to draw someone riding on a slug [link] but I guess I was wrong! And yours is SO much better! Great pose, adorable characters, much shiny-ness... Yours even has a cool story. And I guess that comment I got on mine about it needing reins was right, since you apparently had the same thought! This is just too awesome.
you've got to be a genius. i've been checking out your work for the past.. half an hour/45 minutes, and you have the imagination of a young and innocent child. kindof reminds me of an alice in wonderland type of inspiration too. though, i'm not quite sure why.
