Another of my odd little shrines--this one has a smokin' rooster.

I took a lot of liberties with the actual design of chicken wings on him--I tried really hard to do the design with the correct chicken wing, but it just didn't work the way I wanted to, and so he got more of a hand shape. As chickens go, he'd be a freak of nature, but the art looks much better.

Nevertheless, I feel that obscure guilt that many of us feel when we throw reality over for aesthetics. I need an artist's confessional. "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. I have committed atrocities to the wing structure of Gallus gallus for my own twisted visual amusement..." (One wonders what sort of penance you'd have to do--biological illustration, maybe...)

Anyway! This little shrine is about...I have no idea. 7 x 10 or so, maybe a smidge bigger, constructed out of acid free foam core, MDF backing, and modeling paste. The scan did two peculiar things--the middle bars are the same blue violet as the upper and lower, but at the same time, the orange is not so smoothly painted--somehow, for once, a scanner IMPROVED the image! What're the odds?
