In my recent trip to LA, I had the privilege of seeing California Quail. Something about their ridiculous little topknots made them look fussy and a trifle haughty. A quail with pearls and eyeglasses just kinda followed. I had sepia ink and some brown colored pencils with me, and the rest, as they say, is history...

What may make this even weirder is that judging by the markings, that would have to be a male quail...

It's about 8 x 10ish on 9 x 12 Arches hotpress watercolor paper. Slated for the Anthrocon art show, but available at the pre-con higher price if you absolutely must have it! Prints are also available for $10 plus shipping--send a note or visit [link] to order!

you totally do not see any art of quails

I totally love this. I think quails are the cutest things ever to walk this big blue planet. I love seeing them run around here

We call those little scamperers 'butlers'. They just look like they're little proper english butlers having been trained to race while holding up trays of teacups. XD
