This? This is my life. I am that pig. My life is patently absurd, improbable, illogical and aerodynamically unlikely--but occasionally glorious nonetheless.

Also, I just finished the fourth Dragonbreath book (Lair of the Bat Monster! Coming February 2011!) and I always go through a crash after finishing the book and start going "I have not done a Real Painting for ages, I am a lazy hack, all I'm good for is little cartoons of dragons and wombats..." and then I have to do a detailed painting or I'm no good for anything.

Occasionally German chocolate cake can stand in for the painting, but not this time.

I love this one! I'll have to check out your books, my daughter is almost 5 now and I think she's dig them.
Don't you just Love/Hate the process? I go through periods of non-creativity, then WHAM! Paint like crazy with effortlessness. I read about the 4 steps of creativity and found it extremely enlightening. The dark time of nothing done is actually the 2nd step, the incubation period when your mind is actually working the hardest.
