The Polar Court by ursulav The Polar Court by ursulav
I got this urge to paint checkerboard tile.

No, seriously, that was the whole motivation for the painting--I wanted to paint the tile.

I could probably have sated that urge with something rather less complex that would not have involved painting that much satin and ruffly bits, but as usual, I outwitted myself.

Digital, done with Painter 7 and an Intuos tablet, prints available as always at [link]

I've written whole stories because I wanted to use one line. At least your tile is a much larger part of the painting.

This is brilliant, the way you pursued that inspiration. It's rather inspiring to me. :D

This is probably the only occasion in my life that I will call a polar bear beautiful.

For some reason the penguin on a camel in the desert didn't geographically bother me, but penguins with a polar bear (opposite poles) does.

What a beautiful vibrant piece! I absolutely love the polar bear's design, and the penguins are so colorful and well, interesting!
