Artist's Comments

It was a great tree to eat lunch under, a really fabulous tree, with a comfortable rock and roots to lean against if you wanted. Merrill was really glad he'd found it.

Funny thing, though, he'd been through here hundreds of times, and he could've sworn he'd never seen it before.
------------

Mixed media, again, acrylic and oil pastel, 14 x 18. This was so obvious I don't know why I never thought of it before--the trunk goes up, the rooty bits go down, it's JUST LIKE A SQUID! Obvious! Makes perfect sense! Right? Right.

Original is for sale, prints available, send me a note or visit [link] for pricing.

The squid tree is a great idea, and I like the texture of the bark and moss.

Makes me wonder how long Merrill's got before the squid tree makes him lunch. :P Unless squid trees "dig deep and drink water and earth" or however Tom Bombadil said.

Great story and picture. I like to do that as well: draw and tell (about my Witch).
