So this was the second run at this particular painting.

The first was looking great, coming out a lot like the Black Jackalope and then I tried to fix a particular bit, overworked the paper, and tore it off in a great soggy strip, an act which makes the art gods weep or point and laugh, depending on their particular bent.

After this grim experience, I started over again—the sketch appealed to me too much—and then I got this far and the one art voice that actually knows what it’s taking about rose up from the back of my skull and said “Stop. Now.” So I did, immediately, because if I have learned anything about art, it is that a surprisingly large percentage of it is knowing when to stop screwing with something.

Anyway, 8 x 8, watercolor pencil and clear gesso on top of print on hot-press watercolor paper sealed to board. Original is for sale and will go to upcoming con if somebody doesn't pounce on it first, and we have prints at Red Wombat Studio: [link]

I was just wondering, what's happening with his back legs? I can't tell at all sorry :<.

I love him :), but I can't tell what is happening with his hand quarters one bit. We should be able to see at least one whole leg, but we see nothing of a back leg :<.

I just saw, I think his spine is all twisted. I don't think an animal can do that while keeping his front paws to one side :<, wouldn't he need to have his front legs a part a bit to support the twisting?

That has got to be one of the cutest, realistic foxes I have seen. And he looks at you with those knowing eyes(probably because He has three tails and you don't.) Appropriate for a young kitsune.
