Warblerbrau Porter by ursulav Warblerbrau Porter by ursulav
Now with correctly placed umlaut!

Prothonotary Warblers are endangered in Canada and in decline throughout the US. They are one of the only warblers to nest in tree cavities, and overwinter in mangrove swamps. Neither paint nor pixels can do justice to the color of the Prothonotary Warbler, which is a shocking, ecstatic yellow. They practically glow in the dark. It’s a thing.

They do not, to the best of my knowledge, wear fezzes in the wild.

Suddenly I'm reminded of the 11th Doctor.

Fezzes are cool.

Fezzes! Fantastic Fezzes! Fezzes are awesome! Why NOT wear it into the wilds? Certainly would attract attention, and confuse ALL of the predators! Hehe.

To be rated an 8/10 by Kevin, and immediately followed by the truly regrettable souvenir bag of Sac Shack Snacks.

I love the fez. And that it sort of looks like he has a dapper mustache.

I like this one better than the last one. Primarily because I like dark beer and if this existed, I'd actually buy this one!

Anything looks better in a fez!

They're a rare and welcome sight in eastern Texas. Never seen one with a fez on, though...

I find irony in the fact that I literally finished a picture of one of these little guys tonight.
Of course yours is a tone better. He's wearing a fez. Fezzes are cool.

I am, however, confused by being able to see the back of his tail and the front of his breast at the same time. ;) Escher Warbler?

Think of it as a sexy comic book pin-up. For warblers. *looks shifty*

Out of curiosity, have you ever seen A Field Guide to Little-Known & Seldom-Seen Birds of North America and Another Field Guide to Little-Known & Seldom-Seen Birds of North America? Granted, there are many worthy birds like Prothonotory Warblers to bring to our attention, but given your penchant for the oddball, I'd think birds like the nearsighted bat owl, the crosscut sawbill, the long-range target duck, and the split rail might amuse you too.
