I made a Warhamster 40K crack over the weekend and thought it was a totally obvious joke. Then I went online and discovered that yes, yes it was, but I figured what the hell, I'd illustrate it anyway. (As my friend Kit says, "It may have been done before, but YOU haven't done it yet!")

My boyfriend's a Warhammer 40K nerd, and kindly loaned me his books on painting space marines so that I could get some approximation of the armor right. (And by loaned I mean "flung at me with disturbing enthusiasm.")

Original is 8 x 10 or thereabouts, mixed media--I have no idea how people paint those little fiddly miniatures, so this is as close as I'm gonna get.

Original is going to Anthrocon unless somebody hits me up for the original first, and prints are available at Red Wombat Studio: [link]

Nice, when my friends and I want to play the game we usually say WarHamster.

Good work on the fur, love the cartoony style.

Ironically me and a few friends were discussing your art and making a warhammer 40k game using mice and I made a quip about powerarmor wearing ultramice and lo and behold you alread ydid it. Awesome!

I work with these little guys all day everyday, and by these little guys I mean space marines...not warhamsters...
I love this! and since I usually deny that I have anything to do with warhammer, that's saying something.
