I found your zombie hamsters due to a very strange conversation and subsequent google search...which also turned up a description of the disease TME (transmissible mink encephalopies) and its effects, which include dammage to brain tissue, shuffling about, and cannibalism. The disease is most easily spread through said brain tissue.

Zombie hamsters indeed. Thank you for making them visible to me!
